Bernini's sculpture "Apollo and Daphne" is not illustrated identically. It is translated into an abstract, freer, and more physical language. The broad grey and white streaks create a dynamic of twisting and elevation. The magenta bursts pierce the composition like signs of transformation, almost like the leaves emerging as Daphne already escapes her own flesh. At the base, more reddish tones recall the birth of roots, the brutal anchoring in another material.

The work does not literally depict Apollo and Daphne. It shows the moment when form yields to becoming.

Vestiges does not begin with a garment. Vestiges is a house built around a taste, a way of living, feeling, choosing, and looking at things. "L'Art de vivre" brings together the works and objects that make up the interior world of the house.

Since childhood, I've been drawn to baroque statues. Not just for their beauty, but for what they embody: an elegant violence, a frozen movement, a material that seems to hesitate between stillness and momentum. In my paintings, I don't seek to reproduce them. Figurative art constrains me. Abstraction allows me to translate what they evoke: the surge of a body, the fall of a drapery, the twist of a gesture, without ever stopping them. My canvases are made of material, reliefs, layers, scratches, knife strokes. They must breathe, crackle, catch the light, change with the hour and with the observer.

What is presented here is not separate from Vestiges. It is Vestiges, in another form.
